Dear Oak Harbor Families,
Oak Harbor Public Schools is recruiting volunteers to support the District’s review of elementary school attendance boundaries. This work is intended to ensure the most effective use of District facilities, respond to declining enrollment, and protect the District’s long-term financial stability.
To support appropriate planning, the Boundary Review Community Partners Team will work with District staff and consultants over approximately five evening meetings between March 2026 and May 2026 to develop a recommendation for School Board consideration in late May/June 2026. This timeline will provide families approximately one full year to prepare for implementation of any approved boundary changes in the 2027–28 school year.
If you are interested in volunteering on the Team, and live within the Oak Harbor Public Schools attendance boundary, please complete and submit the attached application by February 25, 2026. Team members, representative of the student population at the schools in our district, will be selected no later than March 1, 2026. If demand exceeds available positions, a lottery will be used to select the members.
